There has been a lot of controversy about who is going to be the number one pick this year in the 2014 NFL Draft. Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles, Jadeveon Clowney, and possibly Sammy Watkins. There is no doubt that this years NFL Draft is full of good players, so it is going to have to take quite a bit of forethought to predict who will thrive in the NFL atmosphere, and who will fall apart under the pressure.
JOHNNY MANZIEL: One of the people who is talked about a lot is Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel Who is coming to the NFL in his sophomore year. We all know how well he played in college, but most teams question his ability to play in the NFL due to his height. Granted, other star quarterbacks are not tall (Russel Wilson and Drew Brees) and manage to play as well as other quarterbacks who are taller (Peyton Manning and Tom Brady). He is probably most questionable for his off field performance. On June 29, 2012, before he was chosen as Texas A&M’s starting quarterback and before his first college game, Manziel was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors—disorderly conduct, failure to identify, and possession of a fictitious driver’s license(Wikipedia).
JADEVEON CLOWNEY: Jadeveon Clowney is a Defensive end for the South Carolina Gamecocks. In his freshman year, he started all 12 games of the season. He was the first South Carolina true freshman to start in the defensive line since Travian Robertson in 2007. In the 2011 season, he was credited with 36 tackles, 12 of which for a loss. the video below displays the skills that Clowney has. This skill could be a huge threat if he can still perform it in the NFL. He should be a top 3 pick.
